Job Description and Duties

Under direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent will independently perform a variety of the more responsible, varied grant manager duties associated with the following departmental grant and payment programs, which include but are not limited to, the Beverage Container Redemption Innovation Grant Program, Workforce Development Grant Program, Quality Incentive Payment Program, and Recycled Glass Processing Incentive Grant Program, Increased Recycling of Empty Glass Beverage Containers Grant Program and Empty Glass Beverage Transportation Grant Program. Performing the duties of this position will require interaction with both internal and external stakeholders. This position may require travel and may include overnight travel, not to exceed 15% per year. This may require an adjustment to the employee’s work schedule.

This position requires that you possess and maintain a valid California Drivers License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your applications. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions. Failing to maintain a valid CDL will result in a failure to meet job requirements.


This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.

  • Experience in developing partnerships; collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Experience in facilitating meetings and conducting presentations.
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with grant/payment management systems, a Microsoft Suite or comparable software.
