Job Description

Well-established, boutique luxury residential interior design firm seeks a Project Manager with a minimum of 6 years of high-end experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, proactive, detail oriented, client-savvy and able to work independently, as they will oversee large residential projects, for a discerning clientele, from concept through installation.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF SENIOR DESIGNER / PROJECT MANAGER:

  • Extensive experience managing design projects from start to finish, including design conceptualization and development, space planning, client and vendor relationships
  • Develop presentations, schemes and budgets for new projects with Senior Designer/Principal, specifying FF&E, purchasing, construction documents and construction management, etc.
  • Negotiate fees and set schedules for projects
  • Create quotes and execute purchase orders
  • Communicate extensively with vendors and clients
  • Manage contractors, coordinate and oversee installations
    Manage and oversee several projects concurrently
  • Source fabrics, furniture, lighting, fixtures, tile, plumbing fittings and fixtures, and accessories
  • Manage and oversee junior designers, expediters, drafters/architects and interns

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS OF SENIOR DESIGNER / PROJECT MANAGER:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited interior design program.
  • 6+ years of related experience in designing high-end residential projects
  • Significant experience in all aspects of the FF&E process from design, sourcing, purchasing, tracking and installation
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD a must
  • Proficiency in Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Studio IT software for creating proposals and tracking furniture items a plus
  • Ability to sketch and visualize initial design concepts – hand rendering skills a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Creative and flexible in design approach
  • Excellent eye for both presentation design and sourcing
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle several tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Some travel required
