Office Technician Scheduled:

Tuesday-Friday 11:30AM-8:00PM & Saturdays 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Office Technician Pay Rate:

$17.00 per hour

Office Technician Position Summary

The Office Technician reports to the Office Manager of Latino Treatment Program. The Office Technician is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the Latino Treatment Program. The Office Technician will undertake a variety of activities in the office ranging from filing, data entry and answering the phone.

Office Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate professional phone communication: answer incoming calls, take and relay messages, make appointment reminders, and check voicemail.
  • Follow scheduling guidelines to schedule prescribers and assist with scheduling changes.
  • Provide professional, trauma-informed customer service and demeanor at all times.
  • Complete initial contact with consumers, enter/update consumer information into electronic health records (EHR), assist consumers with initial intake tasks.
  • Verify consumers' insurance eligibility consistently.
  • Filing/retrieving charts when needed.
  • Check consumers in/out, provide transportation passes and obtain necessary consumer signatures.
  • Assist with monitoring and reminders to staff and consumers to help ensure recovery/treatment plans and medication are current.
  • Assist with consumer communication to facilitate behavioral health services.
  • Assist with medical records department, on an as-needed basis.
  • Maintain professionalism with both independent tasks and during collaborative teamwork.
  • Other duties reasonable and related to this position as directed by related supervisors.

Office Technician Skill Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

  • Type 45–55 wpm
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and write in both English and Spanish.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram dorm.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concreate variables in standardized situations.
  • Project a positive, accommodating demeanor and a customer satisfaction-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrate the capability and willingness to learn and implement new and ongoing processes.
  • Exercises sound judgment in carrying out daily activities and managing any issues which arise.
  • Able to competently utilize Microsoft Office Suite, email, EHR, and technology used in the course of job duties.
  • Strong commitment to providing quality services to members.
  • Adhere to confidentiality policy and HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

Office Technician Education, Employment and Credential Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED) and at least two (2) years office experience or related experience;
  • Associate's Degree and at least two (2) years of office experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) skills required.
  • Understanding of basic accounting, and personnel management.
  • Valid PA State Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse clearances.
  • Clearances must be updated every 3 years per COMHAR policy.
  • Must have a current ACT 31 (Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse Certificate).
  • Licensed individuals must renew every two (2) years. Non-licensed individuals must renew every five (5) years.
  • Adult and Child CPR w/AED & First Aid certification required.
